Introduction IPAR provides a centralized solution for the collection, shipping, distribution, marketing & sales of reusable ICT hardware. And at the same time for the recollecting, reshipping and recycling of end-of-life ICT hardware. Thus generating financial returns for our partners, quality solutions for our African customers, quality jobs for the African people and protection of local African environment.
The social aspects
Bringing hardware to Africa alone is not enough. For small businesses we deliver low cost ICT hardware and software implementation solutions, ICT learning programmes and after sales hardware and software services. For schools we help in getting funding for ICT and internet access and we provide software solutions for e-learning. Through this we take responsibility for the output the hardware eventually should give to the local community. The ecological aspects Through the widespread existing channels for second life ICT hardware the greatest problems occurring is that ICT hardware with a large percentage of defects is shipped to Africa only to be dumped locally. There is no control on this flow of hardware. Thus creating e-waste which already causes great ecological problems. Our solution We bring ICT hardware to Africa via our strictly controlled Platform. All hardware can be track-and-traced from suppliers till end-user. When not reused, we bring it back to Europe for recycling. As an important extra compared to other initiatives, we recollect from our African customers end-of-life e-waste only to ship to and recycle it in Europe. Our African customers get reimbursed money for giving us their end-of-life ICT hardware when buying with us. Through this we encourage them to help solving the e-waste problem, together with us. Tightly controlled Annually we get an official audit by an expert accountancy firm in order to provide our suppliers and sponsors the guarantee that our Platform is watertight. |
